The DIFFUSION brief
 
         
  Diffusion Security Personnel wanted two logos: A main header logo and a smaller logo bearing only the initials DSP. For the main logo, they wanted to express their emphasis on diffusing potentially explosive situations rather than the imagery usually associated with security services. I used the image of a cluster of spots being dispersed (and fading in colour intensity) by a grey or silver wedge. This represents dispersing a crowd into smaller and less unstable groups or individuals. This was the first concept presented and was accepted without wanting to see other options. It was exactly the thing they were looking for. The smaller logo would be the badge worn on uniforms and would appear at the foot of stationary. For this I used the same font (Impact). The 'S' is suggested by the space between the 'D' and the 'P'. I created a flat image for print output and a glossy 3D effect for web display.
